Study abroad working with design and industry representatives in Europe.  Graduate level counterpart of ID 428.  Credit not granted for both ID 428 and 528.

530 Philosophies and Theories of the Built Environment | Credits: 3
Prerequisites: graduate standing in Arch/I D/L A.
Focus on systematic thought which may describe behavior of the built environment.

Research methods, from quantitative to technical to philosophical, directed toward qualitative research.

Emphasizes the cognitive and behavioral practices of design; exploration in terms of content and value.

Explores approaches to design thinking in the topic areas of people and place, history, theory and criticism, and physical design.
